On Wednesday, October 26th, Bahar Thompson, branch manager of SCORE Newburyport, presented at an entrepreneur forum - Connection That Works - in Amesbury Mass. The event was sponsored by First Ipswich Bank [ Lisa Shanko] and hosted by the Chestnut Innovation Center [Robert O'Brien] , a manufacturing incubator focused on providing an innovative approach to scaling up manufacturing businesses. Their 160k foot campus of Multi-use/tenant commercial space features flexible lease terms, support services and a collaborative work environment. Bahar’s talk highlighted the business mentoring process of SCORE, a partner of the Small Business Administration. Founded as a free business consultancy using successful retired executives, SCORE provides a structured approach to starting, growing and running a small business. SBA and Accion participated in the event too.
